When he was 16 he was also granted the opportunity to travel to the national level to not only compete but, to also serve as the interpreter. His early rise came when he competed in improvised oratory for the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) where he also served as an advisor, school vice-president, and regional president for said organization. During his early childhood, Richard learned to speak English and has been translating professionally since he was 16. Richard is a native Spanish speaker who was born, raised, and educated in Puerto Rico.

Kip earned his B.A., cum laude, in English and Communication from St. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and a former Minnesota State Senate candidate.
